What stage is your business?
This year's Startup Weekend Monterey Bay saw a record number of registrations (102). Thirty-two participants pitched ideas, and the group chose 12 to work on through the weekend. After one team became two, thirteen new startup companies formed on the weekend and made final presentations Sunday night. The companies ran the gamut from social enterprise companies that sought to solve real world issues to companies that saw a need in the marketplace which they could address. One hoped to manufacture drinking straws that turn color when exposed to common "date rape" drugs.
