Three years ago, Jake Reisdorf became fascinated with beekeeping, and now, at the tender age of 14, he’s opening his own brick-and-mortar honey store in downtown Carmel. The Carmel High School freshman is naturally getting help from his family in the venture, and Friday.they’ll be on hand for the grand opening of Carmel Honey Company this . Jake Jake had previously been selling his honey at local farmers’ markets, but was constantly being asked where his store was located: “They wanted to learn more about bees and sample our honey,” he says. A ribbon-cutting, honey-flavored bites and drinks, and a chance to meet Jake and hear about his passion for the plight of vanishing honeybee populations are all part of the event. Information: www.
